Cannabis Cultivation Facilities

Cannabis Cultivation

MEP engineering and controls for cannabis cultivation facilities

A cultivation room only performs if the equipment behind it does. We engineer and build the mechanical, electrical, irrigation and control systems that hold a room where your cultivation team sets it, and we have delivered these facilities ourselves.

Environmental equipment, sized room by room

Veg, flower, mother, dry and cure rooms all want different conditions, and those conditions move through the cycle. One air handler serving the whole building averages all of it and satisfies none of it.

  • Load calculations per room. Sensible and latent loads worked from your lighting package, canopy area and irrigation rate rather than a rule of thumb, including the lights-off condition that usually drives the dehumidification selection.
  • Equipment selection and layout. Cooling, dehumidification and air distribution specified and laid out around your bench or rack geometry so conditions are consistent across the canopy.
  • Exhaust, filtration and pressure. Carbon filtration and exhaust sized to the actual air changes, with room pressure relationships set so air moves the direction you intend between grow spaces and corridors.
  • Dry and cure. Low-airflow spaces with the control resolution those rooms need.

Irrigation and fertigation

Fluid systems are the core of our engineering background: pumps, skids, piping and nozzles designed to code and sized to duty rather than to catalogue defaults.

  • Injection and dosing skids. EC and pH control, built and specified as process equipment.
  • Recirculation, filtration and sanitation. Loops including pump selection at best efficiency point.
  • Distribution piping. Designed to ASME B31.3 where the application calls for it, with zone valving and metering.

Power, lighting and panels

  • Service and distribution. Sized for full lighting density plus mechanical load, with headroom for the expansion phase you have not drawn yet.
  • Horticultural lighting layouts. Against your target light levels and photoperiod, with contactor and driver strategy that will not nuisance-trip on inrush.
  • Custom control panels, operator stations and motor control centers. Built to your project's listing requirements, including UL 508A through our partner fabrication shops when the jurisdiction or your insurer requires it.
  • Protective relay panels. So a fault in one room does not take the building down.

Controls, monitoring and records

PLC and HMI programming with SCADA supervision gives you setpoints by room, trending you can look back through after a bad week, and alarms that reach someone before a room is lost. That same trend history is what you hand an inspector or an insurer when they ask how the environment was maintained.

Building, expanding, or fixing a room that will not hold?

Send us the room count, canopy area and lighting package. We will tell you what the mechanical, electrical and controls scope actually needs to be.
